The Bible's Teaching on Tithing

Therefore, let us try to see, spirituallly, to understand this mysterious process of prosperity.

God's Command to Give!

For, it is written:

GIVE (to God)! AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN BACK TO YOU (by Him)! EVEN A GOOD MEASURE, PRESSED DOWN, AND SHAKEN TOGETHER SHALL OTHER MEN GIVE BACK INTO YOUR HAND (at God's direction). FOR, WITH THE SAME MEASURE THAT YOU GIVE OUT (to God), SHALL (HE) HAVE RETURNED TO YOU AGAIN (in blessings)! (Luke 6:38)

Now, as mindboggling as it may seem in the natural, this simple Passage gives you the Mystery of the true source of wealth and prosperity! For, it is spiritually connected to your giving to God!

What! How can this be?

Well, I know, it is hard to recieve in the natural. But, follow us a bit and see if your eyes of Faith are not opened up to this important spiritual concept!

God - The Source of Our Wealth

For it is written:

BUT YOU SHALL REMEMBER THE LORD YOUR GOD, FOR IT IS HE THAT GIVES YOU THE POWER TO GET WEALTH!!! (Deuteronomy 8:17)

If that is so, then why am I not prosperous? How come my wealth is not in my hand? Is it locked up somewhere, for me?

The Heavenly Storehouse of Your Prosperity

But, now as HE has done HIS part--YOU NEED TO DO YOURS!

What is that?

Well, let me illustrate. Not so long ago, this was a big news item. Someone had bought a lottery ticket to win millions of dollars. But, despite the fact that the ticket had won, no one came forward to claim all that money! It just sat there, for months and months!

Consequently, even though God has provided wealth and prosperity for you--YOU HAVE TO GO AND GET IT!!! You have to claim your winning lottery ticket with God, according to the rules that HE has set forth.

And what are those?

FRUITFUL RETURNS ON SPIRITUAL INVESTMENTS

For this is what is written:

HONOUR THE LORD WITH YOUR SUBSTANCE (give), AND WITH THE FIRSTFRUITS OF ALL YOUR INCREASES (incomes). SO SHALL YOUR BARNS (storehouses) BE FILLED WITH PLENTY, AND YOUR PRESSES SHALL BURST FROM ALL THE WINE AND OIL (prosperity)! (Proverbs 3:9-10)

Grasp that with the eye of FAITH!

THEN HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE???

But this I say: HE WHICH SOWS SPARINGLY, SHALL ALSO REAP SPARINGLY; AND HE WHO SOWS ABUNDANTLY, SHALL ALSO REAP ABUNDANTLY! Yet, let every man, according as he has purposed in his own heart, give (to God)--not grudgingly, nor of necessity (compulsion): for God loves a cheerful giver! (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)

However, I think you also need to be aware of what others often give (and the results or harvests that it usually produces). So, let us let at the historical and Scriptural record.

WHO HAS GIVEN WHAT - AND WITH WHAT RESULTS?

1. CONGREGATIONAL TITHE:
Most of God's Congregations collect a tithe or 10% of a person's income (Genesis 14:18-20, 28:20-22 and Leviticus 27:30). This is what most other Believers usually donate. If you expect to have averge results, then, you need to do at least that much.

(Otherwise, your blessing are likely to be rather meager.)

? TITHE OF TITHES:
It is also a Command of God, that those who collect tithes, should also pay tithes of that collection (Hebrews 7:9). This Tithe of Tithes is to be set aside and sent to the Holy House of Zadok or the High-Priests of the Realm (Numbers 18:26-29, 2 Chronicles 31:19 and Nehemiah 10:38). Consequently, if your own Congregation is not doing so, then you need to talk to them about properly tithing (or at least donating something to the ZDK Holy House)--if they expect you to tithe to them! (For, if they will not contribute (at least something), then the blessings that their members will receive from God will be rather limited, as well!)

2. REALM (National) TITHE:
Isolated Congregations are not in God's Plan! HE intends them to be gathered into Networks or Nations. Consequently, a National Tithe or Denominational Tithe (2nd tithe--20% total--or King's Fifth) is also set forth in the Holy Scriptures (Genesis 41:34, 47:24-26 and 1 Samuel 8:15, 17). And, while you may scoff at this, bear in mind that there is a Cult out there that extracts 15% from its members. So, if you are not willing to outgive them, then they will bury you! Moreover, if you will not contribute to a Realm or National Tithe, then our Country and Nation will turn more and more from God and the Faith--and take up Paganism and Idolatry! (And, how will that be a blessing to you?)

3. WELFARE TITHE:
Part of God's duty upon the rich is to take care of the poor! Thus, almsgiving or contributing to the needs of the poor and needy is a part of every Believer's walk! (Deuteronomy 14:28-29, 26:12-15 and Proverbs 28:27) You doubt that? Well, consider Josephis' instructions that the good Jew is to give 3 Tithes: 1-to the Congregation, 2-to the Nation or Realm (or Israel), 3-to the Relief of the Poor (Tzudacha)! So, before you start grumbling about how wealthy and well off some Jews are, remember their obedience to God's Commands as to what to do with their money! (And, if you will not match their giving, how can you gripe about what God gives back to them, for their spiritual investment in HIS Kingdom?)

(4) 5. PARTNERSHIP TITHE:
Supposedly, the modern world has escaped from the Mediavel World and we are nolonger under the sub-rule of Nobles and Aristocracy. Or, are we? (The wealth of British Peers still seems pretty influential, especially in America!) Now, the Mediavel World set forth the ideal of the Noble as a loyal and Faithful servant of God. Is it surprizing then, that along with this status came the moral obligation to tithe half or 50% of their income (Luke 19:8)? Consequently, those who bought into this Fellowship, earned for them (and their Families) the right and privilige to rule sub-sections of Europe. Therefore, Our Realm is offering a similiar Program for those with the strength of Faith to grasp it (see Starlords Program)!

6. FULL GIVING:
So, how sold out to God are you? Well, the ultimate is to give all that you have and follow HIM (Matthew 13:44, 19:29 and Mark 10:29-30 and Luke 5:11). This Doctrine of Forsaking was widely used by the Catholics in Feudal Europe, which is how they came to control all of Europe in the so called Dark Ages (and the reason why their church is so wealthy, today). So, we in the Protestant Movement had better start teaching and using this Doctrine, or the Catholics will always be blessed beyond us!

So, just how much should you tithe, then? Well, frankly, it is time to sit down and do some heavy praying about it! Ask God to show you what HE wants you to give. And then do what HE tells you!
