ZDK Seminary - Revival Chapel
MINISTERIAL ASSISTANTSHIP TRAINEE PROGRAM
Practical Training for Various Ministerial Works
The ZDK Organization is currently going through an EXPLOSION of
expansion! And there is a desperate need for more manpower! So,
while the bigger and better Congregations may pursue Bible College,
Seminary, and University graduates, if you are willing to go where the
work is, or are willing to pioneer a new work in areas where we don't
as yet have any, then there is a good chance that you can enter our
Trainee Program and end up, eventually, with a good professional,
clergy type position with us. (Provided that you are willing to do
the work as directed.)
Interested?
Then let us lay out some of the detials of the MAT Program, and
see if you might have the RIGHT STUFF for it.
COURSE OUTLINE:
Most of the learning involved with the MAT (or Ministerial Assistanship
Trainee) Program is very practical and work related. However, there
is some study as well. And, how far up the Program you get, depends
on how much of that learning you do (and the fruits that your labors
produce). But, as a general outline, here is what we plan:
FIRST YEAR - NOVICE (New Convert)
PRACTICUM: assigned to some official of one of Our Congregations or
Outreach Programs for a full year of supervised work in that area.
(Or, correspondence Project, if out of Our supervisable area.)
STUDY: Individual Bible Study of Gospel of John, Exodus, and
Acts of the Apostles. (Log book required for Trainee readings.)
A good Foundation in Church History and Our Roots (as well as basic
beliefs).
SECOND YEAR - DISCIPLE
PRACTICUM: continuation of the above Practicum--or occassionally
re-assignment to a new one. (Correspondence Trainees usually have to
come up with a new Project, unless the one they start is really good
and worth continuing.)
STUDY: Individual Bible Study of Gospel of Mark, Judges,
and 1st and 2nd Corinthians. (Log book required for Trainee readings.)
A good Foundation in Congregation organization, operations, and
overseeing.
CREDIT EQUIVALENCE: roughly equivalent (at this point) to a one
year Bible School Certificate.
THIRD YEAR YEAR - TRIBESMAN
PRACTICUM: continuation of the above Practicum--or occassionally
re-assignment to a new one. (Correspondence Trainees usually have to
come up with a new Project, unless the one they start is really good
and worth continuing.)
STUDY: Extensive and in depth Individual Bible Study of Genesis
and the Hebrew Family. (Selected readings in 1st and 2nd Corinthians,
Ephesians, Colossians, etc.) A good Foundation for personal
counseling and dealing with Family Problems of members! (Log book
required for Trainee readingss.)
FOURTH YEAR YEAR - CITIZEN
PRACTICUM: continuation of the above Practicum--or occassionally
re-assignment to a new one. (Correspondence Trainees usually have to
come up with a new Project, unless the one they start is really good
and worth continuing.)
STUDY: Individual Bible Study of Matthew, Deuteronomy, and
Pastorial Epistles (1st and 2nd Timothy, Titus, James, 1st and 2nd
Peter). An Introduction to Congregational administration. (Log book
required for Trainee readings.)
CREDIT EQUIVALENCE: roughly equivalent (at this point) to a two
year Bible School Certificate or an AA Degree (?).
FIFTH YEAR - TEMPLE SERVANT
PRACTICUM: continuation of the above Practicum--or occassionally
re-assignment to a new one. (Correspondence Trainees usually have to
come up with a new Project, unless the one they start is really good
and worth continuing.) Also, by now, the Trainee is often assigned
some kind of worship duties, as a local Temple Servant (to evaluated
their ability to participate and perhaps lead some parts of the Worship
Service).
STUDY: Individual Bible Study of Luke, 1st and 2nd Samuel,
1st, 2nd, and 3nd John. An Introduction to Ministry and
compassionate works of God--sharing the Love of God with the needy.
(Log book required for Trainee readings.)
SIXTH YEAR - DEACON
PRACTICUM: continuation of the above Practicum--or occassionally
re-assignment to a new one. (Correspondence Trainees usually have to
come up with a new Project, unless the one they start is really good
and worth continuing.) Also, by now, the Trainee is usually assigned
some kind of teaching positon (to evaluate their ability to put forth
our basic teachings).
STUDY: Individual Bible Study Numbers, 1st and 2nd Corinthians
(Review), Galatians, Colossians, and Pastorial Epistles (1st and
2nd Timothy, Titus, James, 1st and 2nd Peter). A good Foundation in
Congregational Problems and how to deal with their challenges. (Log
book required for Trainee readings.)
CREDIT EQUIVALENCE: roughly equivalent (at this point) to a three
year Bible School Certificate.
SEVENTH YEAR - ELDER
PRACTICUM: continuation of the above Practicum--or occassionally
re-assignment to a new one. (Correspondence Trainees usually have to
come up with a new Project, unless the one they start is really good
and worth continuing.) Also, by this time, the Trainee should be
assigned other staff members (Temple Servants) to supervise (to
evaluate their ability to lead and manage others).
STUDY: Individual Bible Study of Prophecy: Isaiah, Jeremiah,
Ezekiel, Daniel, 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, and Revelations. A good
Foundation in Our Doctrines of Prophecy. (Log book required for
Trainee readings.)
EIGHT YEAR - MINISTERIAL TRAINEE
PRACTICUM: continuation of the above Practicum--or occassionally
re-assignment to a new one. (Correspondence Trainees usually have to
come up with a new Project, unless the one they start is really good
and worth continuing.) Also, by now the Trainee is usually assigned
some Preaching tasks or set to some Evanglistic Program, or Counseling
Service, or Leading Worship Service (depending on how they want to
specialize).
STUDY: Reading the whole Bible through in the year. A good
Foundation in Holy Scriptures--for preaching, teaching, etc. (Log
book required for Trainee readings.)
CREDIT EQUIVALENCE: roughly equivalent (at this point) to a four
year Bible School Bachelor of Theology Degree or a BA Degree (?).
COSTS?
There is not a direct charge for these Training Lessons. As a
potential worker and employee of ZDK, WE provide that training for
worthy candidates. However, part of the requirement is that you tithe,
not only to your local Congregation, but also to the ZDK Seminary.
And, not just while you are in the MAT Program, but for the rest of
your Ministerial Career. So, the Program does require a financial
commitment, but it should be just about normal for those who really
want to work for God. (However, if you think that this will be a
struggle for you, then contact us about how to deal with it.)
SALARIES?
The MAT Program is basically a volunteer's program. No commitment to
paying Trainees an income is neither expressed nor implied from ZDK.
Consequently, most Trainees should plan on working, perhaps part-time,
on their own, to support themselves. However, a Trainee may find (or
work their way into) a position where a stipend, living allowance, or
even a regular salary may be paid, depending on the circumstances of
their Ministerial Work. But, this is NOT contracted nor guaranteed!
In fact, it may work out that a Trainee completes the Course, only to
find that there is not a position for them with us. (Sorry, but growth
can be irratic!) Consequently, no commitment by ZDK is extended to
employ graduates of the MAT Program. You must have Faith, on your own,
that God will supply.
EVALUATIONS?
Annual evaluations of the Trainee's progress in the Program will be
made. These usually consist of either Papers (Progress Report,
Scriptural Position Paper, Long Sermon, etc.) or Oral Exams of a
short speech followed by questions concerning the Project you may
have undertaken that year.
An annual conference will be scheduled, for all Trainees to attend
(usually at or nearby the ZDK Seminary) to facilitate this evaluation.
All Trainees are required to attend (though some exceptions may be
made for illness, travel conditions, or even distances involved--for
international travel). Consequently, you will need to plan on those
travel expenses and schedules.
TERMINATIONS?
While WE sincerely hope that all candidates will complete the full
program, recognizing human nature, there may be some who will not.
Consequently, candidates are free to resign (like any officer) at
any time--though prior notice is appreciated (to find a replacement).
Then, as is standard ZDK Policy (see Divine Law Library), any and all
candidates may be terminated upon the substantiated accusations of two
or three witness that claim sufficient wrong doing or breaking of God's
Laws to warrant dismisal. Moreover, Supervisors may recommend
termination of candidates if they believe that there is probable cause
that the individual is not meeting the duties and requirements of the
position. Furthermore, as with all officials, since you are all
employees of Our Spiritual Throne, the Throne may, upon its own
written, executive order terminate any and all officials without
justification, without warning, and without appeal.
ABSTINANCE PERIOD:
Candidates (or Officials) who are terminated (or resign) are required
to NOT take up another Leadership position in any other Religious
Organization, for seven years. Thus, either work for God with US (and
by Our rules and regulations) or work for a secular company! Moreover,
those who break this rule agree to forfeit to ZDK all proceeds of their
earnings that such a position may bring them (and to pay all Court
costs that may be required to collect it).
REQUIREMENTS?
AGE: college age (18) or older.
EDUCATION: High School dipolma or equivalent--some college
prefered.
ASSOCIATION: ZDK member (or membership in one of Our Programs),
which means that you MUST be able to take the Varangian Pledge.
- To get VARANGIAN PLEDGE
EXPERIENCE: must be Regenerated or Born Again to enter (higher
level positions may require being Spirit-filled or Engifted).
CHARACTER: must be able to keep the Noahic Rules of Fellowship
to enter (higher level positions may require stricter
discipline--especially keeping the 10 Commandments).
- To get NOAHIC RULES OF FELLOWSHIP
LOYALTY: may not be a member of any other Denomination, or
Religious Organization (that may be contrary to ZDK), or a Lodge or
Fraternity member (that may have divided loyalties), nor of any other
group or organization that ZDK may deem threatening to it (from their
hidden aggendas). Moreover, those who break this rule will be required
to pay back to ZDK everything that they earned from us (as well as pay
whatever Court costs it takes to collect it).
So, have you got what it takes? Do you hear God stirring in your
heart to work for HIM, through us? Well, consider what HE says:
- "But, when HE (Jesus) saw the multitudes, HE was moved with
compassion on them, because they fainted--and were scattered
abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then HE said unto HIS
Disciples: "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers
are few! Pray, you, unto the Lord of the Harvest (God), that HE
will send forth Laborers into HIS Harvest." (Matthew 9:36-38)
