RBS Yachting

RBS Inc has been manufacturing battens for both the Windsurfing and Yachting Industry since 1985. In 1990 we quickly learned that the flexible Epoxy matrix and the pulform process was a superior process for this product. Our Epoxy battens have become the benchmark batten in the Windsurfing Industry and are quickly becoming the batten of choice in the Yachting Industry.

All RBS Inc Epoxy battens are constructed with unidirectional "E" glass fibers in a proprietary pulforming process in which the glass fibers are pretensioned and aligned during the impregnation and curing process in our special EPOXY resin matrix. This manufacturing technique makes for an extremely durable virtually unbreakable batten.

Our battens are tapered on our custom made tapering machine insuring the end user a quality and properly tapered batten for the specific location in your sail. We take extreme measurers to make certain that the proper tapers are placed on each and every batten. Because of our special EPOXY resin matrix we can taper our flex tip battens down to .035" (less then 1mm) making for a very soft tip on our leech battens without fear of breakage!
