Dear
Friends, Customers & Family,
We just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary! All our children and grandchildren came for an all-day party at our farm. We had hayrides, each of our kids sang us a love song, and had a great time just being together. We feel very blessed to be alive and well, living in the upper Hood River valley on a 90 acre farm. Certainly, we've had our challenges, but 2007 has been good so far!
We have a generous crop of pears, apples and peaches hanging on the trees. It's taken us several years to realize that we cannot control the weather! So, we're hoping and praying for a good harvest and fruitstand season.
Even though we are both 62, we're still buying and planting cherries, honeycrisp apples, and comice pears. It takes about 4-5 years to produce fruit, so we are optimistic about our future here. To be honest, your purchases have helped maintain our business and livelihood. Lyle also substitute teaches to help us and he enjoys other work besides farming.
We're more or less "adopted" two young boys who live in Hood River, Owen & Sawyer. Ruthie loves being their grandma and she needs time to do the job she enjoys most. Being a grandmother is a true joy for her. We are looking forward to seeing all of you this fall. Come visit our farm at the base of Mt. Hood. We appreciate your continuing business.
Sincerely,
Ruthie, Lyle and Family
