If you are receiving errors while installing DOGS.EXE (the QuickDog Software) such as
the following -

"there is no path" or "file not found", etc...

What you need to do is add the c:\windows\command folder to your "SYSTEM PATH".

This may be done by following the directions listed below. After doing so you will
find that your computer is better able to handle software downloads from the internet,
not just the QuickDog download.

Please let me know if you have any problems following these
and which step caused the problem. After completing these instructions correctly, you
should be able to install QuickDog.

First, make sure there is a folder on your computer called
\windows\command

If this is there, the problem is in the "SYSTEM PATH" environment variable. To
correct this do the following -

1) Click on the START button

2) Click on the RUN command

3) Type "msconfig" into the entry box

4) Press the ENTER Key. A window titled "System Configuration Utility" will appear.

5) Select the ENVIRONMENT Tab along the list of options beneath the FILE VIEW HELP
line. IF THE ENVIRONMENT TAB (WINDOWS ME) is not there, SELECT the AUTOEXEC.BAT tab
(WINDOWS 98).

WINDOWS 98 USERS continue here - WINDOWS ME USERS SKIP to "WINDOWS ME USERS continue
here -"

6) Click on the line that says PATH, it should highlight.

7) Select EDIT...the cursor will appear at the end of the PATH command.

8) Press the HOME key. This will move the cursor to the beginning of the PATH line.

9) Now use the RIGHT ARROW KEY to move the cursor past the text that reads
"c:\windows;"...Now the cursor will be just after the semi-colon character on this
line.

10) Add the following text on this line. c:\windows\command; You may do this by
simply typing this information in. What you should now see is the beginning of the
line looks like -

PATH=c:\windows;c:\windows\command;

11) Select the OK button. Windows will tell you to RESTART and go ahead and say OK.

CONTINUE BELOW with Step 12
